Description
VF1000 is a powder-based slump-retaining agent designed for dry-mix mortars. It is primarily used to prevent flowability loss in dry-mix mortars over a period of 0.5 to 3 hours, addressing rapid flowability loss caused by poor cement adaptability or high clay and fine powder content in aggregates. VF-1000 stabilizes mortar fluidity and ensures the product maintains excellent workability over an extended duration.
Uses
A general-purpose powder slump-retaining agent that can be widely applied in mortar and concrete systems. Specific applications include:
• Grout and pressure grouting materials (agents).
• Self-leveling mortar.
• Repair mortar.
• Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC).
Characteristics / Advantages
• Provides essentially no initial water reduction and does not increase the initial fluidity of the mortar.
• Water-reducing performance develops gradually after 0.5 hours. By increasing the dosage of the slump-retaining agent, mortar fluidity will increase over time.
• Highly resistant to rapid flowability loss caused by clay/stone powder content and ambient temperatures.
• The use of this product allows for an appropriate reduction in the dosage of superplasticizers.
• Enables mortar to maintain excellent workability over a long period.
• Excellent adaptability, allowing for simultaneous use with other additives in mortar production.
Product Information
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Appearance | White to light yellow powder |
| Bulk Density (22°C)(kg/m³) | 600 ± 100 |
| pH Value (22°C) | 7.0 ~ 9.0 |
| Solid Content (%) | 97.0 ± 2.0 |
Application Information
Recommended Dosage:
0.01% to 0.1% of the weight of the cementitious material.
Grout Fluidity Test
PO42.5 cement, quartz sand, VF570 Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer, VF-1000 Powder Slump-Retaining Agent.
Test Results (Mortar Fluidity in mm):
| VF570 Powder Superplasticizer | VF-1000 Slump-Retaining Agent | Initial | 0.5h | 1h | 2h | 3h |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.12% | – | 310 | 275 | 230 | – | – |
| 0.11% | 0.03% | 310 | 305 | 295 | 280 | 260 |

Conclusion
Test results indicate that cement-based grouts incorporated with VF-1000 maintain their initial fluidity.
Water-reducing performance begins to develop gradually after 0.5 hours, and the sustained-release
dispersion effect continues for up to 3 hours.
