Description
BY-1005 Corrosion Inhibitor is a highly effective admixture designed to prevent or delay the corrosion of steel reinforcement in concrete, significantly extending the lifespan of concrete structures. This product is suitable for concrete prepared with Portland cement and slag cement, offering compatibility with fly ash, mineral powder, silica fume, and common water reducers.
The corrosion inhibitor works by enhancing the density of the concrete, improving its resistance to harmful substances such as chlorides and sulfates, and providing active protection for steel reinforcement against chloride-induced corrosion. It also slows down the damage caused by sulfate attacks, improving the long-term durability and overall performance of the concrete. This product is especially beneficial for structures in coastal areas, salt lakes, power plants, and saline-alkali lands, where high sulfate and chloride concentrations are common.
USES
-
Widely used in environments with high sulfate content, such as coal-bearing strata, sulfide ore layers, gypsum layers, saline-alkali areas, salt lakes, and coastal port projects.
-
Ideal for steel-reinforced concrete exposed to chloride-containing materials, such as sea sand, and concrete formulated with low-alkali cement.
-
Suitable for coastal bridges, culverts, and guardrails exposed to de-icing and snow-removal salts during winter.
-
Used in industrial and civil construction projects located in sulfate-rich environments.
CHARACTERISTICS / ADVANTAGES
-
Low Dosage with High Cost-Performance Ratio: Recommended dosage is 1% to 3% of the cementitious material, depending on the concrete’s requirements and admixture form.
-
Corrosion Protection: Effectively prevents or delays the corrosion of steel reinforcement, thus extending the structural life of concrete. It forms a dense oxide film on the steel surface under high alkalinity, offering active protection.
-
Improved Strength: Enhances the compressive strength and overall durability of the concrete, ensuring long-term performance and reduced maintenance costs.
